Call of Duty 4 crashing D;

I just updated to Windows 7 Ultimate today (64bit was the only version I have).
Unfortunately, CoD4 multiplayer crashes on startup every time.

I've tried running as admin, I've got the latest graphics driver and audio driver, and I've enabled 'stereo mix' which can cause the game to crash.

After some research I've seen most people run the game fine on Win7 64bit.
Any help would be great.

You know I'm going to ask this, but; do you have a legit copy?

I downloaded the game but the key is legit, afaik.

I don't see what difference that makes.
