My old videocard died, so I need a new one. Now I got a couple of questions.

1. What is the new name of the 9800GT? Some GTS type or something? lol
2. What are the best cards from Nvidiea and ATi? I remember that the old ATi 4800 and higher were good for gaming, but what about the 4600/5600/5800? And someone how shit/good the GT/GTS/GTX series are O-)
3. I got an core 2 duo 2,44 ghz processor and 4 gb of memory, what kind of card would you advise me?
4. I actually want to play the newest games, but I think I also should update the cpu then?

I think a GTX or a 5800 would be an overkill but idk..help please :p Thanks in advance!

Hm, ive got an GTX 260 (its pretty cheap nowadays) and i still can run every game on high or highest settings, even Crysis Warhead.

If you'd like to spend more, the GTX 460 has pretty much the best performance for the money.

Oh and dont  get confused by AMDs videocard shizzle, they rebranded lots and did some REALLY weird shit. For example, the current HD 5870 is better than the HD 6870 (i know, confusing consumers and stuff, ghey).

if i were you i wouldnt buy anything better/more expensive than a GTX 460 though, it would be overkill.

My motherboard is a P5KPL 1600 by ASUS, will a GTX 460 fit? And is there a big differene between a ''192'' bit and a ''256'' bit card? And is there a big difference between 768 and 1024mb ram? My last one was 512 mb. There is a a price difference of 30-40 euro's between the 768mb+192 bit and the 1024+256bit versions.

And thanks alot Hitman :)

If your motherboard has PCI Express slot, then it will fit.
If your monitor/screen isn't that large, i think you're not gonna need a killer graphics card, but it should give you more fps. But most of the times it's "The bigger, the better"

An HD4750 should work well for your system imo and it's much cheaper, I got 2 now but when I had only 1 I could run GTA IV end every other game on high settings ;)

I'm planning on buying a GTX 460, so the only thing I need is a PCI Express slot right?

Do I need to connect it to my power supply with some special cable, or is that included? (I got a Foxconn H55MX-S Series motherboard)

I had to connect my videocard to the Power Supply, yeah, but it came with the cable.

Don't know if it's any different with Nvidia, but I assume they also give you the cables you need :+

Usually if your power supply is powerful enough it should have all the cables you need.
