[Idea] Property Related : Houses, Business, etc. and Income
#1
Introduction, (see next post for my ideas)

First of all i want to say that im the kind of person that is always full of ideas.
I normally have ideas that, like i experienced for all these years now, are implemented in games 5 years after i thought of it.
I mean the systems and logic that make a game work or even new ways to look at a working system.

Instead of doing nothing, or just discuss the ideas with my friends, i now try to give my point of view to others.
If i want, i can write all of my ideas down with mathematical background, but if i start that, i know i cant stop myself :P
It would end up in a complete balanced infosystem from a non existing game world, that i think, would be one of the greatest (RPG)games ever, if someone could make it translated to a working game.
(example: in modern day rpg's you got 2 things to worry about, 1; Life, 2; Mana. In this case theres no difference between Lifeforce and Lifestatus, so a wound costs Life but it doesnt make you slower and weaker. And mana would be: Spirit-force and status, etc.
But my ideas for the ultimate RPG cant be done right now. The system i think of, needs an almost complete variable world, because of the possible shift between good-evil, and storyline, that causes villages and towns to change in looks, and even in position and size and possible NPC's)

So what im planning to do instead, is to post my vision of this server (i mean the LV playground) part by part,
and hope you people find my ideas usefull.

Edit: Placed reply into first post.
Edit: Put idea for calculation of prices into the subject.
Edit: Corected a fault in calculation.

Thank you for your reaction, i wrote down a more complete vision about the subject, like you wanted to see.

Quote:I maybe got a nice idea to make the house-thing work.

Houses should be rentable not buyable.
In this way you could make a timer on it, when the timer expires the house is rentable again.

Quote:First of all, the different phases:

If you see a building that has no owner, and you buy it, you will buy it for its original value. In the Non-Owner State, the building is in Phase III.
When you bought it it will jump to Phase I, the Owner State. In this phase no one can buy your property but a counter will begin to count down to zero. And you cant check that remaining time.
When the counter of the first phase reaches zero it will go to Phase II, the Semi-Owner State. In this state the building can be bought for 150% its price. 50% will go to the previous owner. The owner can re-rent it also in this state for 100% of its value. Also a new counter would be begin to countdown at about twice the speed. If this one reaches zero the property will go into Phase III again and the previous owner loses the building.

Phase I ( Owner State ):
Timer =  100% ( 2 hour will be 2 hour )
Not Buyable but owner can sell it.

Phase II ( Semi-Owner State ):
Timer =  50% ( the 2 hour would be divided in 2, giving 1 hour)
Buyable = 150% ( 50% for previous owner )

Phase III ( Non-Owner State ):
House is buyable for 100%

Property’s

Propertys should be divided in classes. This makes sense if you read on.

Price of a House and/or Busines and Special Buildings:

I think the property itself should be starting at the following ammount of cash:

# Total Cash In-Game ( bank and cash ) divided through the Total Ammount of Current Players, and then a certain percentage of it so it can be adjusted if needed.

In this way you get a certain ammount of cash thats variable. Lets call this the Main Price.

Countdown Timer of Propertys

Also, the timer that causes the phases to reset, should be different for every type of property.
In this way you can make sure that high listed property wont have one owner for a long time. Because high listed property gets you loads of money and it would be easyer for others to get a chance to buy it more often.
Cheaper property should have a longer timer so a poor man/woman can enjoy it longer.

If you divide propertys into classes, you can give them certain characteristics, like the ammount of % from the Main Price, and also their Timer.
I assume all houses, business and other buildings can have some free weapons, health and armor in it.

If you take the Main Price as a standard you can give all the classes a price by putting the % of the standard Main Price.
I filled it in already (exept the first 4 property classes )but off course the % should be tweaked to a playable ammount.
And also ive put Class Numbers for the houses they are used for calculation.

Army Propertys
Timer = ??? Week
Price = Main Price ??? %

Police Departements
Timer = ??? Week
Price = Main Price ??? %

Fire Departements
Timer = ??? Week
Price = Main Price ??? %

Hospitals
Timer = ??? Week
Price = Main Price ??? %

10: Class I Business
Extreme business that give’s you security about income, you are a millionaire.
Timer = 0,5 Week
Price = Main Price 1200 %

9: Class II Business
Huge business that makes some people to become a millionaire.
Timer = 1 Week
Price = Main Price 800 %

8: Class III Business
Good business that makes you go somewhere.
Timer = 1,5 Week
Price = Main Price 500 %

7: Class IV Business
Normal business that makes a normal income.
Timer = 2 Week
Price = Main Price 300 %

6: Class V Business
Simple business that almost make a living.
Timer = 2,5 Week
Price = Main Price 200 %

5: Class I House
High class houses with garage, boat and/or helicopter/harrier
Timer = 1 Week
Price = Main Price 350 %

4: Class II House
Midclass houses with big garage.
Timer = 1,5 Week
Price = Main Price 250 %

3: Class III House
Midclass houses with normal garage.
Timer = 2 Week
Price = Main Price 175 %

2: Class IV House
Lowclass houses with small garage.
Timer = 2,5 Week
Price = Main Price 125 %

1: Class V House
Lowclass houses that have no garage.
Timer = 3 Week
Price = Main Price 100 %

Earnings of a certain property
Because people like to gain profit i would reccomend a calculation like the following example:
( This starts with the income for the cheapest building, the rest will be modified by the % of the Price of a Building. And the Main Price of the cheapest building have i set to a fictional $500.000 )
Also this calculation is for Phase I, Phase II would give you half its ammount for half its time.

{ [ [ Main Price + [ 10 % x Class Number ] ] x [ Price in % : 100 ] ] divided through the Timer ( In Minutes ) }

{ [ [ 500.000 ( $ ) + [ 10 % x Class Number ] ] x [ Price in % : 100 ] ] divided through the Timer ( In Minutes ) }

Example: 1. Class V House:

{ [ [ 500.000 ( $ ) + [ 10 % x Class Number ] ] x [ Price in % : 100 ] ] divided through the Timer ( In Minutes ) }

{ [ [ 500.000 ( $ ) + [ 10 % x 1 ] ] x 1 ] : 30240 }

{ [ [ 500.000 ( $ ) + 10 % ] x 1 ] : 30240 }

{ [ 550.000 ( $ ) x 1 ] : 30240 }

550.000 ( $ ) : 30240 ( Min ) = 18,18 $ Income per minute.

In this way a house would generate about 18 $ every minute in Phase I. And the profit from buying it is 50.000 $ .
In the Phase II it would regenerate the half of that ammount per minute while the timer is 50% shorter. ( 9.09 $ per minute for 15120 minutes)
What one totaly can earn is 550.000 + 137.500 = 687.000 $. So a Class V house would generate a max profit of 187.000 $.
Not much, but its a house. It only helps a little to get some cash for living ( health, armor, weapons )

Example: 10. Class I Business:

{ [ [ 500.000 ( $ ) + [ 10 % x Class Number ] ] x [ Price in % : 100 ] ] divided through the Timer ( In Minutes ) }

{ [ [ 500.000 ( $ ) + [ 10 % x 10 ] ] x 12 ] : 5040 }

{ [ [ 500.000 ( $ ) + 100 % ] x 12 ] : 5040 }

{ [ 1.000.000 ( $ ) x 12 ] : 5040 }

12.000.000 ( $ ) : 5040 ( Min ) = 2380,95 $ Income per minute.

And in Phase II its 1190,47 Income per minute. Time is 2520 min. 1190,47 x 2520 =  3.000.000

Total Income of Phase I & II = 3.000.000 + 12.000.000 = 15.000.000 $
Because the buyprice is 1200% of Main Price it costs 6.000.000 $ to buy in the Non-Owner State ( Phase III )
The maximum profit is therefore is 9.000.000 $
