Graphics card suggestions?

I'd much rather get an ATI, to be honest.

Thanks for all of your help, you all. I went to my local computer store today and bought the NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT. It's cheap, but it works great! I've tried it on COD4 and it works like a charm on max settings!

I'd certainly recommend that card for someone with a low budget! I'm glad with my purchase.  :)

Glad to hear that. D:

Obviously not at full settings, since to get 130fps you'd have to have a 130Hz monitor, or the obvious one: V-sync disabled.

If you have full settings, your FPS will NEVER go higher than the refresh rate of your monitor.

Hey, just wondering, but how did you manage to get a 130FPS rate? My MW2 is limited to 90 FPS when I have Fraps running and I cannot seem to unblock it. I even tried putting a new limit on it like 125 (the same as I used on Cod4- eventhough my card handles well over 300 FPS on some maps) and it still doesn't make any difference. Is anyone else also having the problem? I mean, we all know IW were being stoned douchebags when locking this game up like a monkey in a way too small cage.

Everything is on extra high settings and the resolution is 1920x1200.
Graphic card is GTX275.

No, I always disable v-sync, I think it's a waste.

I exaggerated with the post... I didn't say my average xD, I should've just said 'my max is', or i'm simply lying, sorry.
My max is 130 FPS. Some areas gives 30fps like in the mission you are riding in a tank with the minigun showering the city which causes an enormous amount of smoke.

Resolution: 1680x1050
AA: 4
Lowest: 30~35fps (there's a mission with LOTS of smoke.)
Average: 70~80fps
Max: 130fps (the mission when you start from underwater..i had pretty good fps under there xD)

GTS 250 1GB can't run MW2 on full with 130fps solid.

GTX 275 896MB
Average: 84.5fps
Lowest: 57fps
on 1920x1060

So it seems like avg 90fps on 1920x1060 is the highest on the modern gpus.
