5 simple things that can change the world
#1
Some things have to said, based on opinions of a mere stupid girly player who doesn't know what a harddrive is.  I can only hope certain people actually take the time to read this properly instead of glancing over it as they usually do with other posts.
I'll try to keep it simple and to the point - for managments sake, simple = good recently by the looks of it  Don't get me wrong, they have been working on sa:mp for a long time and have far more experience and knowledge than someone like me in running a server, but recently I've been somewhat doubting common sence, which is probably just a lack of interest or caring, which is cool, but I'll pitch the ideas anyways

Fact is sa:mp is in decline.

Fact is LVP is in even worse decline, mainly due to the removal of the offical tab and the increased levels of development on LVP compared to other servers.

Yet there are 5 simple things in my opinion that could be introduced that are somewhat 'serious' problems and cause alot of upset with players that could be improved with fuck all time and effort involved so overall gameplay and maybe even player numbers would benifit.

And to be honest I really don't understand why this hasn't been done and thought out before, its common sence to me unless I'm missing something totally obvious. Simple things that everyone wants, will reduce lameness and admin/mods workload along with make the server a better place.

1)  Whoever did the new vehicle spawns needs a slap. Sure there where alot of excess vehicles, for example the carparks around the strip that could slow down people with slower machines.  This week it was revised.  However now over a third of the player spawns points now have NO vehicles. I understand that a total overhaul of the vehicle layout is on the cards - it better be because at the moment its terrible, very terrible.

2) Idling.

Been a thread going on about this for a while(years) and sure you's don't want people idling to gain money and pluspoints without playing. But with the player numbers falling time to ditch the 15 minute time.  Either extend it or get rid of the auto kick.

Sure there is the ability for platnum a/c holders to automaticaly bank money which makes it unfair - but 2 points

a) You only have this ability after you reach 200 hours or so to have a platnum account
b) it was before the /bank all command was scripted by TrannyX, meaning banking was more effort.  Just remove the automatic banking option so people who want to bank money can't actually idle to save money.

Will help keep a few people on the server, increase the player count slightly therefore encouraging other people to join - its all good.

3) Command abuse to avoid death

It really hurts my fragile little mind why this is such an issue - where many players are kicked and banned for doing it while vast numbers of players are vixtim to it when the system is already in place to prevent the majority of it, just timelimits have to be changed.

At the moment if you call for a /taxi or /dive and you have recently been in a gunfight you're denied - and you are told so.

So just expand the time. Make it so people can't use /taxi /world /visit /tune /dive /tp etc for 30 seconds after shooting a weapon.

If you are shot at and don't fight back you can use these commands without delay which isn't abuse.

If you fired a gun, the 30 second delay would give the 'attacker' a fairly decent chance to gun you down before you get a chance to abuse them.

Common sence.

4) Shiplaming

A big issue recently. Just block access to the ship with a fence so you don't jump over a rail to get onto the ship.  To get access to the ship you need to walk into a CP - which can be restricted like command abuse so if someone has fired their gun within the last 30 seconds they won't be teleported onto the ship

To exit the ship you just have to walk into a CP on the ship to spawn at one of a few locations near the ship or walk up a ramp/plank to jump over the fence blocking people getting on without the CP

Problem solved.

5) Newbies. There is a big gap with new players and regualars, to the point newbs are basically bait for regulars, which would put alot of new players off playing reguarly, as its difficult to get established.

With LVP in decline its time to promote/help newbies in order to encourage them to play, get to know the server and therefore increase the chances of them staying to become regulars and boost playernumbers and therefore the whole LVP experience.

Examples of what could be done for newbs is bigger bank limits, just a bit bigger mind, better spawn weapons for your first 20 hours on the server - bigger amounts of spawn money.  I think this would really encourage new players to stick around a bit longer to become addictive.

5 simple things, would solve alot.  I question humanity sometimes.

I can't be arsed going over this to correct spelling and grammmmmmor errorrss, but you know it makes sence.

Just a subnote..

The old jail system with the island was great and unique

The new one which people are in a cell is fun for minor things because of the /visit

But I pitched the idea before that people who are jailed are first sent to the jailcell, and then if they punch/fight in the cell they would be punished - teaches people not to fight in the wrong places, and that was done somewhat where fighting in the cell = more jailtime

But I think people who are jailed and then fight to a point where they reach 5 minutes of jailtime should be spawned to the jail island for 5 minutes, which will have no 'punching punishments'

Mainly because I miss the island, it was a nice little map and as I said before, unique, like a trademark of LVP.

Unlike the previous suggestions I don't know if there is much work/scripting involved to do this, but if there isn't too much work involved it can only improve the server, nevermind limiting the jailtime people get from punching non stop in the jail cell, to the point they get a shitload of jailtime and quit the server probably forever. Adds depth too, but meh I just miss the island.

P.S. FiXeR abused me at least 20 times tonight, causing my medication to be doubled 2 weeks ago because of the stress of the constant abuse, someone explain to him that his fun abusive behaviour on the server impacts certain people in the real world.

1. I can be very short about it: It's being worked on.

2. Not sure what your point is here:

Quote:it was before the /bank all command was scripted by TrannyX, meaning banking was more effort.  Just remove the automatic banking option so people who want to bank money can't actually idle to save money.

If we would remove the /bank all feature people could still just /bank 1000000 or so. Takes a second more but that doesn't matter a lot.
Unless you mean removing the automatic banking(you mentioned both^). That would mean removing a feature so we can remove the idlekicker. I rather see it that it doesn't give you anything after 15 minutes or so.

3. I'm not sure what current time limit is, but people just run in interiors and then use the commands as they can't be hit inside. So extending the time limits won't help for the people who really don't want to die.

4. Me likey.

A bigger bank limit wouldn't help much I think, people get their banks full easy enough, giving them a big banklimit sooner will only ruin the LVP economy (again/even more). More money on join would be good though, easier to start out with buying properties which will give them quick money to get guns to fight back.

Agreed.

P.S. Go FiXeR!

2. Idling - My point is at the moment you're kicked after 15 minutes.

Theres been a thread in C/S open for years debating if the auto kick should be removed.

Certain people pointed out that there is a feature at the bank where your money is automaticly lodged into your bank account.

I suggest removing this command, because it was made before the /bank all command - and the /bank all command makes banking a whole lot easier.

This would mean people could idle without being kicked, but if they want to save their money they have to be there to bank it.

Your point where you simply can't auto bank money after 15 minutes is a better one, and a little birdy hinted at me that the idle system will be redone on wednesday, which makes this point null and void - therefore I wasted my time typing it and your time reading it :)

3. The current time limit is 5 seconds or so... very short.

Yes people can still run into interiors and use commands... this can be changed.

In the VIP room you can't use /taxi inside...so it is possible to block certain commands in interiors?  Just block some commands from interiors - if someone runs to in interior and wants to hide in there like a chicken... like a prison... let them.  Also just remember you can't /dive in interors too....so it is possible, so just block more commands in interors!

I'd love that, chasing someone into an interior and having them too afraid to come out, I'd sit by the door for hours :)

Changing the timelimit to 30 seconds will solve the command abuse outside.  Can't use commands for 30 seconds after shooting... therefore you have 30 seconds to be gunned down. Would stop 90% of command abuse.
With certain commands disabled from interiors - 100%

People will always run from dying - even right down to quitting to deny someone the kill - theres a difference between avoiding death and command abuse however - this suggestion is to elimate the command abuse, not the avoiding death.

5.  The economy on LVP will always be fucked.. its what happens when you earn 2500 for a race while certain things are expensive like weapons and 4.4 million for a carbomb! :)

People like saving and hoarding money,  when I first started playing LVP I was only interested is exploring the map, finding properties and saving money -  its relaxing.    I'm sure other players enjoy it too.

The bank account limit was just an example, but something like better spawn weapons and more spawn money for newbies would really encourage them to stick around.

Making it easier for them to get onto the property ladder would be good also and would increase competion for them - but thats a whole big issue and I know the property system is being re:worked at the moment.  I'd lovee to help with that btw :P

But back on track, in summary something really has to be done to encourage newbies to stay.

No idea to be honest, that's Fireburn/Wesleys department :+ I didn't really check for new features for tomorrow.

3. Agreed.

5. I meant fucked up as in it's very easy to earn it, not big differences between certain things.
But yeah, we'll have to discuss that.
