Just started watching "The Wire" from the beginning, hands down, this is the best show ever hit the television. Don't sleep on it and get the box set/torrent/whatever.

Ive only seen Season 4 on The Wire and that was fuckin amazing, Season 5 is about the cops so dont worry about that.

I strongly recommend you to check it out from the very beginning. And season 5 about cops? All the seasons are partly from the police point of view, that's kinda point of this show. If anything then last season has more take on politics and corruption in the City Hall. There are even pieces from the first two seasons which actually get crucial to how the events play out in the last seasons - all the pieces matter.
