Note to people reading: If you are a troll, or have no interest in media, please fuck off now
YouTube first went HD in December of 2008 but only to the extent of 720p, almost exactly a year later, it is now 1080p, also known as "Full HD".
For those who make HD media entertainment, this is fantastic news, it now means YouTube shows the highest of high quality when it comes to video.
The other side to "GatwickSpotting"
Few things to note:
If you wish to share a 1080p video DIRECTLY with people, you need to add this to the end of the YouTube URL (providing your source video was uploaded in the 1080p format):
ww.w.youtube.c.om/watch?v=zHVRdUX-JlY&fmt=37
I made an obvious mistake in that URL I know.
What must I do to upload in 1080p????
1. The footage must be 1920 x 1080, or 1080i (1440 x 1080) with HDV aspect ratio ([1.333 HDV] [1.000 Square]). < Pixel Aspect Ratios BTW, not screen.
2. You must have a computer and editing software that can deal with HDV or AVCHD. Most often requires a payware editing program, and a newer version.
3. My advice for rendering would be the following format:
1920x1080 [1.000 Square]
Progressive Scan
Windows Media Video file [.WMV]
A high bit rate of 6Mbps up to 10Mbps (But further than that is just a waste of space since YouTube can't handle higher and will only compress)
Frame Rates:
23.976 (IVTC Film)
25.000 (PAL)
29.970 (NTSC)
30.000
Anything above 30 Frames, again, is waste of space.
I know alot of people wish to upload gameplay videos in as higher quality as possible to see all the detail!
Hope this helps,
-Jordi

you think they WANT their content to be removed? It looses money. They try their best to not let people interfere, but then people like WMG would make a lawsuit against them which is more money lost then if they just removed the fucking video in the first place.
