Cruise.

Right here's my idea :+

First of all its a hassle when your in a cruise and suddenly BOOOM your cars gone, either because you fell of mount chillad, because some lamer blew your car up or your car flips because someone had lagged and knocked you spinning, however I think my idea could solve this if it was implemented :+ (That and Stef thought I should post it).

First of all:

The admin or moderator would type /cruisestart.  Following this there would be a message on screen, it would ask you to /join the cruise, therefore you would /join.

Second:

When you have joined the cruise, you have temporary access to /vr and /flip.  This would make cruises a lot more fun for both admins (because they dont have to keep /vr & flipping) and more fun for the players because they won't have to rush type to request either of the above from the admins.

The possible abuse aspect:

If someone is somehow abusing either of these commands i.e. joining a cruise, and then fighting instead of cruising, maybe a list via /cruiselist of people who have joined the cruise and who should be there, and if they aren't they are removed from /cruise via /cruisekick.

Commands which would be needed:

/cruisestart /cruisestop /cruiselist /cruisekick /vr (for players) and /flip (for players.)

I really hope this idea is implemented as it would add to enjoyment of just cruising around San Andreas.

Thanks for reading :+

Nice idea. It would stop all the fuss about teleporting and such to, since the admin who types /cruisestart could just set a spawn position for anyone joining, could use virtual worlds to :D

I actually started a mini cruise feature using virtual worlds, where you could set a "leader" and it'd simply change the icons like in the server-wide chase minigame. Well that's broken now somehow so err it just needs fixing up a bit.

Would be good to implement this all into the current world handler so you can set a leader and activate car healing commands so that players can start and operate cruises without the need for an administrator to be present.

Also it'd be good to not use a sort of minigame system as that removes the current freedom involved with cruises in terms of the way you can just get a new car and tp back whenever and people can join/leave whenever they want by simply catching up to the cruise or just driving off.

Would have to be created with /world abusing in mind, but I have some ideas regarding how that stuff can be stopped anyway.

Commands involved I'm thinking:
/world cruise [on/off]
/world leader [pID/name]

Cruise mode will boot players who kill other players or even it could disable weapons altogether. It would also allow players to use /vr and /flip.

How does that sound eh? :+

Either of your suggestions would help make cruising better :P maybe if we added them all together we'd have a result.

Sorry for the double post:

I think they should have a vote kick put in, for when there are no Admins, or even when there are Admins but they're afk or something with the cruise paused. So if someone's Jewing up the cruise, players can just /vckick [id] (vote cruise kick) and maybe a [why] then there'd have to be 60% happy with the kick or something? I know that wouldn't work out so well, though. On Warrock with the votekick, even when they were legit vote reasons, not enough people would vote and a cheater or somethin would get off with it and continue ruining the game.

Maybe not having the command as /vckick, but it'd have to be short. Or, maybe, like with /help commands for example where people type /help then another word to open up a seperate help list thing. Maybe /cruise then votekick (/cruise votekick [id]).

Since the topic's not open for discussion, suggest it

That is Munch's idea, and I actually do see the usefullness of it, especially when there aren't any admins/mods around.

/votekick was taken out at the time, since it was causing server crashes. Also, with all the suggestions in this thread already, it would be unnecessary.
