xbox 360 controller to pc

Ive been trying to connect my xbox 360 controller to my pc which is running Vista through my play N charge kit/cable and have been downloading the drives and installing em but it constanly says "setup cannot continue because one or more of the requried installation files are missing or damaged..."

anyone?

Theres 2 different types of 360 controllers, one for the console, another one for the PC. Just shows how greedy microsoft is. Try this, try to find the difference between the 360 console controller and the PC only controller, cause it isnt possible for it to not play on PC.

Are you sure? because a freind of mine told me you just gotta download a drive for the xbox 360 controller..

I just use a xbox 360 wireless reciever to connect it to my pc.
