Well I've driven the following BMW's: 118i, 320i station manual, 525d automatic and 530d automatic.
And the following Audi's: A4 1.9 TDI, A6 station 2.0 tdi (aut.), A6 2.0 tdi and Q7 3.0 tdi (aut).

So I think I can compare the two manufacturers quite good. And Audi just feels more natural compared to the sterile BMW's. And they're also a little more comfy (both suspension and chairs), the versions I've driven als got better stereo's and even that they had less powerfull engines, they were more fun to drive :D.

I've also driven 2 mercs, but they just suck :P

I have driven my mate's m3 and a4 in a drag race ( nothing like fast and furious although we had to put a garbage bag on the road camera lol! ). and A4 hands down. M3 felt rigid but driivng an audi is like driivng a baby wrapped with the bubble wrap.

I've never really had my eyes set on one car - any reliable car whici isn't too expensive is perfect for me - although I have a few years till I have to think about that to be honest.
