Hmm I think that visiting pr0n sites is just a joke (:+) but to get serious, then not only pr0n sites contain viruses you know. Lots of websites contain them aswell. Zezima, if you're unsure what an unknown website contains, just don't go there or before going ask around. n00ne, isn't Kaspersky giving every day or every week update and you need to update it manually? (By manually I mean you have to click some sort of buttons like next, ready, finish etc) Because I am 99% sure that NOD32 gives update every day as far as I remember. avast! updates every day automatically, you don't see it and your PC won't go slow (unlike NOD32), you just get a confirmation message that your anti-virus is updated. And that's why I like avast! very much. :)

Avira Antivir. has a VERY GOOD "classic" edition which is for free, and has also a "premium" edition which costs about 20€. Worth the buy, although i prefer BitDefender or Kaspersky.

ESET NOD32 ranks high in the top Anti-Virus programs, and there's no way you have caught a virus while you had NOD32 running.

Reformat.

Do NOT use Avast, even AVG is better than avast. I would recommend BitDefender, Kaspersky or NOD32 to be your main AV.

And, no Mark. NOD32 is NOT free.

And another thing Mark; if anything related to anti-virus update messages is unnecessary, it's avast!'s virus database update message. Some big ass blue box, which includes a voice. It says "A new virus database has been installed" in some retarded bot voice. At least ESET only shows a small transparent box telling you.

And the only reason ESET would slow you down is if you are seriously lacking in good specs.

Anyway, wouldn't booting into safemode and doing a system restore fix it?

Actually you are right but dont do a system restore most viruses and trojans create their own restore point and reload when you use the system restore function I'ts reccomended to turn off system restore. before you run a virus scan

I have to correct myself, NOD32 is actually good, but AVG isn't. It has a low detect rate first of all, and is not good enough. So if you suggest someone to get AVG, that is no good. And avast is better AVG, I also had NOD32 somewhere after the reinstallation, but it died. All freeware programs like AVG are made to work a bit crapper compare to the shareware product.

All i'm saying is that i have no anti-virus programms on , no firewalls. Absolutely no pc protection , and i have no problem with viruses.
