Money Spending
#1
As you might have noticed, LVP has quite a few interesting ways of making money. But what do you do once you have money? Except for spending it on the basics - Spawn weapons, taxis, and teleports, I think we need to come up with some ideas and features that players can spend there money on. So far, Already possible ideas that where in the to do list of 2.9 include:
  • Platinum accounts. Although they offer new money features, It was suggested that they can only be opened at a high price
  • Lottery system. Although this is another way of making money, the odds of winning the full jackpot (matching all the numbers with your chosen ones) and really low, so a lot of people will spend money on purchasing tickets.

So far after looking at the to do lists that's all I can see in terms of money spending. We need some ideas on what our players can spend there money on when they have it! It will bring a few advantages too in the money management, as more things to spend money on will hopefully keep it lower as-well.

Idea: Vehicle Imports

Okay, here is one of my ideas on what players could spend there money on:

A new vehicle import system. Preferably located at one of the Auto Bahn Vehicle import outlets in Las Venturas, basically when a player enters a checkpoint, A menu appears with a list of vehicles to 'import' along with a price for each vehicle! At different times, the vehicle imports should be different vehicles and prices! It does not feature vehicle ownership or any of that business, when you import a vehicle it just simply spawns near you, and you can use it until it respawns.

However as some of you may know, SA:MP does have problems with destroying vehicles after they have been used since it can cause crashes for players using older versions. There are known fixes out there however, but have only been tested with two players connected. (Well I have only tested them with two players connected anyway).

Maybe we could just lower the value of money? Cut the bank limit to $100,000,000 and then make stuff like guns cheaper, but keep the high prices on things such as teleporting and taxiing. Lower the property earnings, and introduce new ways of making money. The lottery could cost $5 for a ticket, so people wouldn't care. Bringing more realistic prices in would make things a lot more realistic in general. Just work up some kind of drug business thing also that the DMers can use and think they're gangster. Anything goes? :+

I like the drug idea. Although it brings more of an RPG style into the game, it would be nice to have a drug system. We could include some drug running as a method of getting drugs too, perhaps a mission to pick them up in time or something. I've always wanted to make something like this :P

Another idea could be a working bar. Ofc, it wont cost too much money to buy alcohol, but it would be nice if we could let our players get Nice & drunk! For something like this though, where probably best waiting for 0.2.5, since as I seen in one of the preview videos, it has scriptable 'drunk effects' (Probably a special action :p) We could even use the drunk animations to replace walking.

Aye, it seems people like socializing and such. Maybe the bar could have its own independent chat channel -- so you'd go there and simply be able to socialize with the people at the bar, drunk whatever -- really small minigames? Not sure what can be done on SA-MP really, I guess something with menus, or even textdraw pong. :+

But erm, yeah. You could just go to the bar and buy a load of drinks.

Nice, maybe you enter a pub, and a small checkpoint appears at the bar. When you enter it, Amenu appears with different drinks you can buy - Ones with more alchohol percent in than others, e.g Lighter drinks such as WKD, Strongbow, Carling, Carlsberg, and stronger drinks such as Vodka, Whiskey, etc.

The more you drink - The more drunk you get. Maybe we could make like an alcohol meter, and after say, 21% of consumption, you start getting drunk. You start off light though, and the more you drink the more you get bladded. Drunken effects (in order of how drunk you are) could start off:

- Not being able to buy strongest drinks
- Drunken walk every few minutes
- Drunk walk every 40 seconds.
- Not being able to use certain commands, e.g /teleport or /taxi, and not being able to sign up for minigames (too drunk :P)
- Drunk camera stuff (from 0.2.5 if its finished)
- Not being able to drive
- Not being able to talk (maybe when u talk we could have it so it sends the message jumbled up)
