Las Venturas Playground 2.9

Well I classed fixing /chase as a bugfix.. as it's stuq. But there are more important bugs to fix, such as the property icon one. So.. lets take a look at those then I'll work on /chase towards the end of this update cycle, so it's included in 2.9. :)

Alright, cool. We need to think of some solution then. The property icons don't effect that many people to be honest, infact I'd class it as about 15% of players that it effects, it's really weird, but as you suggested probably the only solution for now would be to go back to checkpoints until pickup id's & the callback get fixed. Although it has been reported many times by BeckzyBoi, hopefully when the R3 Server comes out, it will be fixed in that.

Anyway where probably best rewriting a handler from scratch for checkpoints then and leaving the current one alone for now (just comment it out or w/e). Personally, since it hardly effects anyway I don't think its necessary, And since quite a few of properties are in view distance of eachother, where going to have make either the checkpoint range small, or perhaps just make a check if any are close together, and shorten the range then.

The /chase is still like 100% in the script, only commented out at the command part, so it won't be very hard adding that back in. Also, I think we don't want interest back, it was taken out with a reason, because there was too much money, and it was too easy to find money. But the bugfixing atm is going well, so that's good. :D

Actually, I might have a better idea for banks. How about, we make a whole new bank system, "Platinum Accounts". Features could include:
  • Better Loan System - Platinum account holders can /borrow up to two million.
  • Automatic Income Deposits - As an optional choice, players can enable it so all income made gets banked straight away.
  • Higher bank limits - Support for up to 30 plus points.
  • Automatic withdrawing - If you haven't got enough money for something, it will take it out of your bank - With support for overdraft (the loan system) along with a bill to pay it.
  • Interest rates re-introduced. As you said, the interest increases players money a lot, but only because the last one was a fuck up. It seemed to give a lot more than 2% interest, and it was increased even when not ingame. The new interest should be 0.9%, & every hour only when you are connected, and have lest than 100,000,000 in your bank (100 million).
  • Anything else I can think of

We will have to think of a hard method of obtaining this though. Personally I think it should be a reward from an admin, but only for people who truly deserve it. Perhaps if it was a reward, the player would still had to have played at least 90 hours ingame, and would still have to pay 50 million to open it or something.

Las Venturas Playground 2.90 should be a real update. It's close to 3.0, So we should give the players something to look forward too and have fun with before 3.0 is (eventually) finished. Once development of 2.9 is making good progress, we should make a blog post on it imo so they can look forward too it.

The Platinum Accounts idea is pretty cool, I don't like the higher bank limits though -- this would just allow the richest to instantly be richer, widening the gap between the pros and noobs.

And regarding your LVP 2.9 being a 'real update' -- we should do as much as we can to get good features in after bugs without crossing into LVP 3's territory to much. I was thinking for example we could do some kindof saved gang system, so the gang bank could be used -- but them what would be obviously special about LVP3's gang system? The DMers wouldn't really see an update, and be lame about it. Only thing to be weary about I think, other than that.. go wild? Maybe.

Yep thats what I was thinking when I meant "real update. Was playing at crazybobs yesterday, and Omg. Got a lot of ideas lol, One of them is a minigame/mission called "Grand Theft Auto". I think by the name you can work out what it is & involves.

Anywho, lets just make this a sick update. We'll reveal some exciting details when we have an overall picture of what its going to be like :D

EDIT: Oh, and another thing. About the going back to checkpoints idea for the property fix, I was thinking of a better idea last night. Why don't we make our own internal pickup id system? One that is bug free? would be 10x easier, + we could then add new pickup features, such as drop weapons after death, etc.
