Windows . . . well shit, that's a given it's where i started up (and i like it). Mac, shit, anyone who hasn't experienced vid/image editing on a mac is missing out big time, har har har, i dont own one, but i've used it for many projects.
So see, i've found niches for all the OSs, i'm not here detracting anything from any OS, like i said in my first post "They all have their place" and i throughly have integrated that into my daily life (or lack there of *zing*).
Oh, and trade laws have nothing to do with MS leaving Windows closed source, it's trade SECRETS, they wanna keep their OS proprietary. However, as more and more mainstream companies and nations adopt Linux (which has matured GREATLY over the years) MS is going to have a hard time. Oh, and about the cost of Windows, do you know what you pay for when you buy a license? Not the program, but customer service and a warranty, THAT'S what drives the price up, customer service and a warranty. Free Linux OSs don't provide that. Red Hat and others that you pay for do. However, most people that use Linux are technically adept and are their own customer service, and there's always a big community waiting to help. Unlike Windows, a small group doesn't make the operating system. Legions of programmers create the code and check, and check, and check, it's a huge hierarchy of programmers of different levels checking and making sure the code is good and solid code. It's a great project whose future quite frankly excites me, and an amazing project such as this to be free and open source? Man, it's a techie like me's wet dream. hahaha. And quite frankly . . . the fact that you have never used it and are arguing so vehemently against it . . . LAWL! LAWL! LAWL! LAWL!
