Personal Properties
#1
Warning: This thread is extremely boring and serious
In LVP 3.0, I think players should focus on having more properties, rather than having the best properties.
This doesn't nescessarily mean that they'll all cost/generate the same amount. Ideally, there would be properties that cost a lot, and properties that don't cost very much, depending on where they are.
For example, a casino would have relatively high cost/earnings, and a tourist shop would have relatively low cost/earnings.
However, I believe that a main factor in cost/earning inflation of properties is popularity.
One of the branches of popularity deals with the name. Many players on LVP have their own personal properties. Props with their name branded on them. Some of them are directly related to a player's name, which has something to do with the landmark near them.
And that's fine. It's pretty funny, actually, and adds a sense of personality to the place.
However, many properties have nothing to do with their namesakes.
I believe that certain properties have inflated costs and earnings, for the sole purpose of making them popular.
In my opinion, it's a propularity contest.
Note to self: never use that word again

What if LVP had no properties with names on them?
How would it impact the purchase of particular properties?
What effect would it have on players' self-esteem?
Would it further assist balancing property purchases?

I'd love to hear LVP's input on this, as it seems to me like a controversial topic.
Just my two cents.

Edit:
I know I'm probably a minority, but I don't speak Dutch. So I'd appreciate it if you speak English in this thread :>
