I run Mac OSX, a Unix based OS and I can tell you for a fact that it's backbone is extremely stable, and the same probably goes for other unixes. Far more extensive and free. Windows is a people's OS, meaning it's easy to setup and nags the shit into you to make you do stuff such as install updates. Some need that, but for us power-users it's just slowing us down.
