I've discussed this with Sophia and it appeared to have seen like fake car entry due to desync. We apologize for the inconvenience.
This game is quite old and sadly with a lot of glitches and bugs. Things like this happen sometimes. Luckily you had to go for a bit at the time of the jail! :-)
