I never set a bounty on myself, but often do so on other people I know just to screw around. Basically, every time I play, I fill up on properties. With 25 props, even if you buy utter crap, you'll earn over $300k per min; with some good stuff thrown in you get into the $700-800k range, and if there's not much competition and you can get all high-earners it'll go over $1mil per min. At that level, refilling the bank happens quickly and after that I have nothing else to spend money on; so everytime I look up and see $3-5 mil in my pocket, I just add it to the bounty. It adds up quickly; especially if more than one person contributes.

In my case, I have 192 play hours and a $340mil bank, but even back when I was newly regular I'd have extra money and nothing to do with it once the bank was full and could have easily put up tens of millions in bounties with an hour or so of play.
