Thank you for your suggestion and participation on the forum.
LVP's activity has been picking up again recently, which is of course good news!
There's now 3 new crew members (Luce, Mr.JT and myself). Crew member coverage has been very good recently.
What you're suggesting sounds similar to a feature our VIP members had a few years back, the "/lang" command. This feature allowed VIP members to temporarily mute anyone of their choice (assuming they were saying something that warranted it). It was then removed, and I believe the reason was down to mis-use of the function.
I do wish to note that even when no crew members show up under /admins, that doesn't mean no one is around. We often have undercover crew members online (who do not appear under /admins) and if you join the #lvp.echo IRC channel, you'll see there's people with @ or & next to their names - they can mute, jail, kick, etc. all from IRC without having to be in-game.
I don't think this suggestion would work very well, sorry. I'm not saying this won't happen (I'm not a developer) and it's not my decision, however, these are just my initial thoughts.
If you really want the ability to help out (e.g. by muting people where appropriate) then you can do so becoming a crew member, however, this status is something you must earn by being active, helpful as well as have a good understanding of the game mode, commands, etc.
Don't let this be a deterrent from making new suggestions, though. LVP needs feedback from its players, such as yourself, and we've been lacking this for quite some time.
