Windows 8 is bound to fail, it is a tablet operating system forced onto desktops and laptops.
SP1 for Windows 8 will bring the start button back and boots right into the desktop, which makes it Windows 7 again.

I have tried the RTM and beta builds and found the interface to by highly unintuitive and frustrating for a desktop. With Metro they basically stretched the desktop icon size 3x which would make sense on a tabled since you use fingers but just plain silly when you have a mouse that is precise on the exact pixel.
