Why would you want to remove minigames? What's wrong with them being available? I personally enjoy Rivershell a lot, with the right people. It'd be really sad to see it being removed.
The current derbies are also quite good. If anything, the new derbies should be added, rather than removing them.
About the minigame sign ups, I think the messages about signing up should be displayed in the main chat, just like how it was in 2.93. Messages for Rocket party, Grenade party, Minigun, etc. appear in the main chat (and there's a lot of participation because of this) while most of the others appear just above the user bar, in the bottom. Players don't really go through the small text in the bottom, which results in less players participating in minigames.
Other than that, a few open DM arenas should be added for various combinations like run weapons, walk weapons, sniper, deagle, etc, to which players can teleport through commands. This is quite popular on other servers. The current /rwtw and /wwtw minigames make players wait a lot.
Minigames like "Don't get wet" 1.0 and 2.0 should be made available permanently. Along with Waterfight, these minigames are really fun.
