I don't use any other browsers, but I just tried Internet Explorer and seems to work. I'm not gonna switch though, I like that Chrome only uses memory per each tab you open.
Also just found out that as long as you don't have the tab open you can close it without it crashing. Still annoying though, but judging by what you said it's not just me... maybe Google broke it in an update or something
