Something that's been suggested before (by SAFC I believe) was to change the type of the pickup. So it would only respawn once until you die. Or you could use it once until you die. Something like that. Wouldn't that be the perfect solution? People can refill once, then they're on their own. If you were winning until they refilled, you should be able to win after they refilled. Since you could then refill once yourself, making the fight fair again.
