You could buy the exact same model of hard disk and open them up and swapping the disk in the malfunctioning drive into the new drive. This is basically what DriveSavers does, only they do it in a dustless clean room and pay professionals to do it. I believe they also have some priority software to help recover over-written data.
And I forgot to mention, running some sort of disk utility or data recovery software on the drive could reduce the chances of recovering your data (even if you decide not to pay them and do it yourself).
