I think this really belongs in "Ban Zone", but I'll give a short explanation of what happened from my side.

I asked "crazyfucker" to change his name. (Edited 15/9/2007 to show his full ingame name, which I asked him to change)
After some arguing, he complained that he would lose his money (roughly $2.5 million in the bank).
I offered to set his bank account to $3 million if he would re-register using another name. One without the "f" word in it.
After more arguing, I kicked him. This repeated a couple of more times.
After even more arguing, I finally banned him with the intention of having him unbanned after he cooled off.
He came back under the name "Crazyfuxer" or something like that, which is ban evasion, so I banned him again for that.
I was in the process of trying to contact a crew member on IRC to unban him (we can't do that from within the game right now due to the 'bot' being broken), thinking I might have over reacted a bit becuase I was so busy, but couldn't contact anyone.
He then got onto IRC and proceeded to let loose with some very bad insults (see my previous post), which I ignored and didn't respond to. It's those insults on IRC that, in my opinion, should warrent a permanent ban.

I would also like to thank every single player who was on last night for not responding to, or encouraging him during his IRC flaming. Everyone just ignored him and he eventually got bored and went away. It says a lot about the quality of our players. Thank you one and all.
We are now the NUMBER 1 online game server in the world. Most of that honor goes to Peter and the development crew for their fantastic scripting and making the server fun to play on. I also personally believe that a smaller reason is that our chat window is pretty much free of the out-of-control flaming, swearing and insulting that goes on on other servers. It makes for a more pleasant place to play when when you aren't forced to always "out insult" the other guy. Certain words tend to "trigger" more aggressive flaming, and the most common of those words is the "F" word. I personally hate that word (along with words like "nigger", "fag/faggot", etc). Words like "cancer" and "kanker" don't carry the same weight in my country as they do in the Netherlands (LVP's home), but I'll enforce those words just as aggressively.
I know I'm far more aggressive in muting people for swearing than most of the other admins, but they have also made it clear that it's pretty much up to the admin in charge at the time as to how to treat foul language. We have many younger players on this server, and I don't like to think that a 12 year old is exposed to, much less is using, language like that.
99% of the players go along with this, and it doesn't affect their fun one bit. A few, however, can't have fun unless they are swearing all the time, including having the "F" word right in their name so they can see it come up every time they type something. IMHO, we don't need players like this on LVP.
As always, I'll go along with management's decision on this particular case, but if this guy is going to insult me like he did in IRC, then he will do the same with other players. My vote would be for a permanent ban.
