Yes, but once you get a quad core CPU power is no longer needed, then it will start getting pure Video ram dependent. Trust me having a 512mb card with that game is hell for me.

GTA IV by far doesnt eat as much VRAM as it shows ingame.

My GTX 260 has 896MB of VRAM and while it shows ingame that its going to need ~1400MB (edited config to allow it ofc), it actually uses only about 700-780 MB (according to RivaTuner which is way more precise than GTA IV's ingame calculator lol).

And i play in 1920x1080 and usually pretty high settings.
