I don't know shit about motherboards apart from the fact that mine is rather great.
ASUS P6T SE. It runs great with my Core i7 CPU.

He won't be able to use that motherboard. He's getting a core i5, which is LGA 1156, Core i7 is LGA 1366.

Just make sure that you buy an LGA 1156 motherboard.
Oh, and definitely go for Asus.

I'd suggest the Asus P7P55D (around 110 EUR), people seem to like it alot... or the P7H55-M, for around 70 EUR.
