Getting ship killed is all part of the fun! Instead of getting annoyed with it, next time make sure you let them know that you got them sent to jail and you think it is quite funny how unbelievably stupid they are, or visit them in jail and stand just out of fist range and get you're laughs there. Seeing as jail is an island now, the latter is no longer possible =(.
