Yellow + Yellow = Red, that's why the ref shows him 1 red card instead of 2 yellow cards at the same time, same thing.
Klose's 2 yellow cards were less harsh than Cahill's one red card (that results in a 1 match ban anyway) so the ref isn't needlessly harsh.
