Actually, I think idling on the ship is pretty lame way to get money and hours.  I would love to see an automatic feature that would kick someone if they haven't moved in, say, 30 min or so.  If you have to step away from the computer for a few minutes to eat or something, use /pause instead.  If you're going to bed or school or to grandma's house, log off of the server for goodness sake!
