Afaik Jay made a ticket for this already: Spawn a player a little bit higher when exiting a RC vehicle.
And about your character standing at the place:
What should happen (If I remember it correctly): VIP enters vehicle, body is moved to /pause location.
Somehow this last part isn't always the case. Not something serious tho, players can't kill you
