That's a pretty bad reason to chose AMD. The reason you should chose one over the other would be for better performance.

Doesnt really matter AMD or Intel its users preference, but older AMD processors are crap for gaming, I dont know about the new ones. I prefer Intel as it is what im using now, and its pretty good, better than the old amd i hadDD
The 9600 GSO is crap, i dont know where you heard that it was good. Its a re-branded 8800 GS, which is worse than a 9800GT.
The AM2 AMD64's are pretty old and are worse than almost every C2D on the market. The AM2 was originally supposed to compete against the C2D's, but that never ended up working out when the AM2's were only a little better than the S939 AMD64's.
