I'm thinking of getting a 40GB model here in the UK, as I don't need the PS2 games. My friend has upgraded his to a 250GB PS3 by simply installing a new drive - anyone else done this?

You can play PS2 games (and not only that) with somekind of an emulator in linux there

I got one for christmas, FIFA 08 graphics are brilliant and CoD4 is awsome, mines a 60gb. Their really good you should get one.

I just bought one today.  Simply, Xbox 360 is good but ps3 is long term.  360 and ps3 are equal with the games and graphics now, but ps is not built to stop working one day.  my Ps2 has had repairs twice, but that is because of dust and the airflow problem.  As long as you have airduster and don't constantly switch back and forth between movies and games, ur good.  Mine's still running, that is why i didn't buy a 60gb off ebay for the backwards compatablility.  Plus, i still know of ps1's that still work.  But anyways, ps3 has a good line up comming and has good one right now, but 360 has more games because it's been out for a year longer, but microsoft screwed up by releasing a year early and having a good amount of faulty ones.
