Most players including me were getting bored of the continuous 'futuristic story/setting in Call of duty. Also many people wanted the world war story again. Battlefield seemed to have outsmarted Call of duty this time.

I can certainly see their point of view^
From around 2011-2013, I played a lot of CoD: WaW - had so much fun in that game! Moved to buy Modern Warfare 2 after that, also decent. A friend had Black Ops, used to play at his house, that was great, especially Zombies! And after that, it all went tits up IMHO - I've not had any interest in CoD since.
It seems to me that the development-tagline these days is: Let's see how unrealistic we can make the game
How do you guys feel BF and CoD compare? Which do you prefer?
Battlefield does a better job (not counting hardline), CoD just rush-release the same game every year and should've died a long time ago after modern warfare. but bf1 looks good
We lost our love for the old good simplistic stories who involved awesome characters like "Price, Soap, Ghost, Mason..." in the COD series.
Looks like Battlefield listened to COD fans and stole them from COD series. The WW1 era was a great idea, so I'll stick with BF1.
Btw all the likes in the infinite warfare trailer were for cod 4 remastered and some COD fanboys haha.
