Windows 8

Just looking for some informed opinions on wether it's worth upgrading from Win7. It's only £40 which seems pretty good value but all the negative vibes coming from Steam have left me a little apprehnsive about using it for gaming.

XP is certainly my fave OS but unfortunatley Microsoft don't care about it anymore.

Windows 8 is bound to fail, it is a tablet operating system forced onto desktops and laptops.
SP1 for Windows 8 will bring the start button back and boots right into the desktop, which makes it Windows 7 again.

I have tried the RTM and beta builds and found the interface to by highly unintuitive and frustrating for a desktop. With Metro they basically stretched the desktop icon size 3x which would make sense on a tabled since you use fingers but just plain silly when you have a mouse that is precise on the exact pixel.

I had no problem with Vista personally. I'm very content with Win 7 though. Win 8 looks cool but doesn't seem real practical to me

If Windows 8 requires more CPU and RAM then screw it... Windows 7 is good enough... Windows 8 isn't much of an upgrade to a desktop PC imo. It's just shit.

Stick with W7.

I haven't tried it btw I just saw some reviews.
