Well, technically, there's earthquakes all over the globe. Western Europe just doesn't have any noticeable ones.
I believe there was one in Germany a few months back. Sensors detected them, but people didn't (or barely) notice.

In England there are floods, moreso down south (I'm in the north). In the last few years most of the floods have taken place during the summer.
I can't remember the number, but I remember reading Britain gets a few hundred each year, but only 2-3 are noticeable (and they're only just about noticeable).
It is curious how (according to some things I heard on TV and read in Wikipedia), this kind of earthquakes (~8.8+ in Richter scale) are meant to occur once every 20 years, but so far there's been 3 in 7 years. The Indian ocean one on December 26th, 2004 (~9.1 in Richter scale), the Chilean one on February 27th, 2010 (~8., and this one (~8.8-8.9). This doesn't prove anything and I might be wrong of course, but in my opinion this kind of huge earthquakes are occuring way more often than "usual". God knows what's next.

Yeah, and it doesn't.
Just isn't close enough to cause earthquakes. It's just a natural disaster, it happens sadly.
Also only people I know who are speculating the lunar perigee has something to do with it is The Sun and we all know about the kind of stories they post.
