Camcorders

For some time I've wanted to buy a camcorder, so recently I've been looking at cameras in the £200 price range, namely:

Kodak PlayTouch
camileo sx500
Panasonic SDR-H80 OR SDR-H85
Sanyo Xacti VPC-GH1

Most of these are under £200, and they're HD, which is great. Sadly the audio quality on them is awful.

So I had a quick look at something more expensive, and came up with the Canon LEGRIA HF M36. It's HD, the audio quality is good, but it's over £500...

I was wondering if anyone could suggest a camcorder that I could get hopefully for under £400, which is HD and has good audio quality.

It does look pretty good, thanks for the suggestion.

Also it's £278.60 on Amazon.

I can't believe I cannot remember their name, but there is someone here who takes lots of video of planes. They would have a huge amount of knowledge about video gear.

Hmm, the Sony HDR series isn't great, they all have their downfalls...

I was searching for a basic video cam too and i was looking at exact the same models you guys discuss here...

The Canon Legria HF R18
The Sony hdr-xr155e

So you advice to buy the canon? Is there a videocam wich can compete in that pricerange?

Greets,

Having looked at raw footage from both cams, I think the Sony cam is better quality.
