Awesome , is there some kind of benchmark site? Like, every GFX card & how well it would run certain games?

Yes. Notebookcheck made a nice ranking of all mobile GPUs:

In the filter you can additionally select the Crysis / F.E.A.R. performance to get an idea what they're like while playing.

Stating the obvious here... If you want a machine for gaming, you'd get a far more powerfull desktop for the same money...

Laptop should only be considered if you actually need a laptop because you move around everywhere etc
But if its going to be sitting on your desk all the time when you're wasting money on a mid range laptop that can play 2 year old games on medium to low settings... you might aswell burn your money

If you do actually want a laptop because you move around, I would suggest a smaller one with a 13inch screen etc that actually make it portable. Can pick up m1330s now for next to nothing.

I move my laptop around all the time, so desktop isn't an option. Also, I don't really want a screen smaller than 15"

The Sony is decent it should handle GTA-SA on high easily. I had a laptop with a 8600M GT with a fairly bad dual core and it could handle GTA-SA on medium quite well. As for the more modern games it should also handle them well also with low/medium settings regardless.

If you ever purchasing a laptop before ATI released the 5XXX cards for notebooks then you would be on a very strict choice of laptops in a budget. The HD 5650 gives the user a lot more performance at the cheap.

The next graphics card up will cost you a lot more and I'm not sure in your budget but I will suggest the Toshiba Satellite Pro L670-14P which has the HD 5650 but a i5 instead of a i3.

Alternatively you could get the Acer Aspire 5740G which is similar to the Sony but cheaper.

Well the laptop seems pretty nice, only the CPU is a bit lacking. I think it'll run MW2 and CoD4 just fine, to a medium-low graphic settings

No, that laptop will definitely run highest np.

They combine a great performance (for gaming) and a running time of up to 8 hours.

Usually most notebooks have a running time of like 2,5h. The Acer TimelineX models have a running duration of like 8h in idle, 2-3h while gaming (without being connected to power).

So it works both as  a good "gaming" laptop and a mobile notebook that can be taken to school etc and will last more than only 2 hours.

The Acer Aspire has a worse GFX card, but better CPU, people told me the CPU won't make that much of a difference, the GPU will though.

@ Toshiba: I can only find the L5XX series, which is +€800.

Games arn't that heavy on the CPU... Crysis and MW2 only use 30% of mine,  San Andreas uses approx 5% so I'd go with a better gfx card and faster RAM over a faster chip.

I'd take those benchmarks with a pinch of salt, theres a few things that factor in game performace FSB, RAM, CPU, GPU and even harddrive read times when playing big sandbox type games like GTA IV - usually when benchmarks are being done for gfx cards they are in a fast machine so the less powerfull thing is the gfx card and therefore the gfx card is the bottleneck and can run at full power so you get a stable and good comparison of the different gfx cards.

There are several different models of the Acer. The one you should be looking for is the 334G50MN model.

As for the Toshiba I just noted that one out as you didn't mention your budget but I guess its a little bit more expensive where you live.
