NASA spaceship "hijacked by aliens"

In the news paper the day before posting this, there were reports of a 33 y/o spaceship (think it was called Voyager) that lost signal with NASA and then it came back a couple hours or days later. They believe some alien engineer repaired it and is using it in an attempt to make contact with us.

Now am not one of them people who just lable every unclear subject as impossible, and it is very much possible.

Anyway...there could be some truth to that but the way the paper put it, it made me lol.

Did they not think that the ship could of gone out of reach or it went through a magnetic field that knocked the signal out and it got it back when it got out? That could also be why it sent weird transmissions back instead of some generous alien mechanic?
