GTA SA extreme FPS lags.
#1
Hello guys, since I installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 yesterday, I have extreme FPS lags on LVP. I play on 1680x1024 and I've about 25-30FPS, I can't fight and I can't do anything else. With Windows XP which I had installed before I had at least 70 FPS. I already tried closing all not-neccesary programs and I exetuted the TuneUP "Turbo Mod" which gave me +2FPS. There's no problem with any other game, it's only Sa-Mp.

So my question is "What else can I do to get more FPS?".

//oh if  this is the wrong section here, please move it.

Try increasing the window performance that might help, and set your screen resolution to 800x650

I had the same problem with Windows 7, and my ping was effected too. I've had to revert back to Vista. ;(

Either way, when I'm on the ship I get a really fps drops, I understand that is pretty annoying that's why I don't like 0.3 SAMP 0.2 is better  ;(

Well, it could probably some problem with the compatibility of GTA: SA with Win 7 and you can't really complain about it because of how old GTA SA is. I did notice a performance problem when switching to Win 7, but it was only a 4 FPS drop for me.

Also, 25 is a perfect frame rate to be playing at and it should not be 'laggy' at 25+ FPS. I think the only thing you can do is either revert to Vista or XP, get used to the lower frame rate, or lower your graphics settings.

I didn't notice much FPS lag when using Win7, only my ping was unstable. What could have caused this, cloakster?

Quote:Well do you do updates with windows 7 ? (yes you can with the activator) maybe you remember a update you did that named "Genuine Advantage" ? Well if you did ur fucked :p (re-install will prob fix the prob)
Could this be the problem? :P

Did DC ask this because the guy had a cracked copy or just because that update actually f'd up something?

I had asked for help with this in another forum, and that was his solution. And yeah, I have a cracked copy...

Still has the "Genuine Windows" thing, if that makes a difference.

Try the stream mem fix I posted.

well Windows 7 takes up more resources than XP. Maybe your PC just can't handle W7 + games. Also try turning off anti aliasing and lowering your resolution, that should add some FPS
