Because it's not normal, nor healthy in that age, to put your body under such stress.

And the parents might force him to do it. I doubt that he decided to do that himself.

Most likely not normal for the local society you live in. And there are things that kids in your society do every day that is extremely unhealthy. It isn't wrong, it is just different.

Mike's right. If he's good at it and doesn't seem unhappy with it, who cares? Maybe he goes to school anyway ever considered that?

A lot of kids in China are like this, a majority of it has to do with Chinese people taking sports extremely serious, thus forcing their kids to train to extreme levels for events like the Olympics.

Whether the children enjoy it or not is hard to tell, most of them are forced into it at such a young age that training is the only thing they really know.

Yeah if every Chinese person held hands they'd go across the world...and probably nearly twice.
