Suggestion: feature lock
#1
Yo,

Seeing time's running out for some of you, others who have plans to leave in total, and again others who are total slackers, I'd like to propose that a feature lock gets instated and the focus will shift entirely to bug-fixing.

Give me your thoughts.

I totally agree with this, Jay and me talked about this too yesterday in #LVP.dev. I think we should only fix the tickets that are marked as bugs, and leave out the feature ones. Then do some beta tests, and release 2.90. The other features can then be added in a later version, like 2.91. It would be nice if we could release 2.90 by January.

Edit: Mantis has a feature that makes it possible to assign tickets to different versions, it would be better if we organised the tickets like that. I can't find how do to so now, but I know they do it at the MTA Mantis.

There are some features which have tickets to be done that are quite large and would take a few days, such as the Derby Handler, Mission handler, and Achivements system, and others which could be done in under an hour such as the Player - Vehicle health system, Car crusher, and the Gang improvements, so, maybe we could scrap some of the large features and include them in a later version as Wesley suggested, and concentrate on the smaller features for a while. Offcourse bug fixing will still be the main priority though.

I also agree with Wesley about adding a new project to the mantis, 2.91, so we can organise the tickets. Would be useful if it was restored to its orginal place though instead of Badeends PC which can be really slow  :'(
