Err, there is a *chance* that things can go haywire. I had to downgrade to the version 1.50 firmware and then upgrade in stages to get to 4.01 or something. Now the auto updater in the menu can upgrade the PSPs (cracked) firmware, which seems pretty cool. There's a risk involved of bricking your PSP (corrupting the firmware and then the device would be rendered useless, or 'bricked') but that tends to happen if people use the firmwares which are not advised to use (such as the wrong version of a firmware could by decrypted by the updater thinking it was another updater, which would install a bunch of garbage onto your FW). Something like a power-cut can also be the cause if it doesn't finish flashing the firmware, but I really wouldn't worry about either of these issues if you simply charge your PSP to full power, follow the correct instructions and don't go throwing the damn thing around. Just for a cheat system it may seem a little bit too much of a risk, however homebrew stuff is also an added benefit. The cheats are pretty neat though (shit like superman
