This whole topic has been a complete worry for me. As some of you may know, I suffer quite a few problems, and one of them is worrying all the time (i.e. paranoia). Because of my extreme worry and belief of this bullshit, I looked it up on quite a few sources. Most of them say there's nothing to worry about (I'm still worrying, however, because it is my nature), and it seems like these guys know their shit. They've taken full account into the man-made aspect of it, as there's nothing they're doing that isn't already being done by nature itself. Now, again, because of my paranoia, I looked it up, and I found this article to be the most reassuring: http://science.howstuffworks.com/large-h...lider7.htm

The CERN Website: http://public.web.cern.ch/Public/Welcome.html

Safety of the project: http://public.web.cern.ch/public/en/LHC/Safety-en.html

Please, for the love of God, stop making these topics. They do more harm than good. :P

We'll Live!

^ something damn mind blowing + I like the relaxing music.  _O-

That video is creepy. It kinda opens doors about there being other life out there.

Anyway, I read an article about it on Virgin Media that was quite interesting, let me find the link...

I actually started drinking before i read this topic.
Turns out, I now have a reason for it  *O*

But on a more serious note; I'm not a very easy guy to get worried.
Basically, if someone tells me i'll die the next day, I'm not that much fussed over the whole situation.

Mainly because I have a kind of, ignorance skill.
I'll just brush this whole thing off as something that could happen, but, in my mind, wont.

And the next day, when it doesnt happen, i'll quite honestly feel that my decision to ignore the whole thing was a good decision.

But, however, if it does happen tommorow, and we do all end up in heaven(maybe a few in hell) the bright side is just, getting to kick the arses of the scientists that thought of this whole thing, for eternity.

Keep faith.

Is that even up for debate here? Are people here actually that ignorant, and arrogant, that they believe we're the only ones? Seriously? In this huge Universe? I don't think so; there's plenty of others out there. And, to correct Ben's FIRST post: This project IS NOT meant to create a mini-Big Bang. It's actually to just understand more about particles and such; it's just the critics that say it could turn into a destroying beam of doom. Most scientists in Europe, as well as the United States, who are not even affiliated with the project agree to its complete safety. It is not a threat, and the leading expert scientists agree.

O-)

Like someone said before: If it does destroy Earth you won't know it, albiet the likelihood of the event.

Also, from my limited knowledge of black holes, it will only be the mass of the particles being crashed together. Therefor the gravity of the black hole will only be that of the same particles. Also, it would be impossible for the black hole to get bigger because it will have formed in a vacuum, contained by magnetic fields.
