Rick Rolling Officially hits Mainstream - Lynexon - 05-06-2008 Everyone has been rickrolled at one point or another. I even did it the other day on the big reply topic. After I did it, I was thinking, "It's just a matter of time before I hear about it off the internet somewhere. Then, today, I was listening to the radio in my car and I heard the DJ at this rock station say this: "That was *************. You know, I'd just like to take a moment and thank the Morning show crew for calling and waking me up this morning. I had got like, 4 hours sleep last night and the guys on the morning crew called me up, thankfully not on the air. They woke me up and Rick Rolled me. Now, if you don't know what Rick Rolling is, It is where you make someone listen to this. (Plays a clip of Never Gonna Give you up)." I IMMEDIATELY started laughing my ass off. My buddy, who I was picking up from work, was like, What?! Because he apparently almost got a ride from someone else but they went back inside to get dude's keys and I pulled up, right before I heard it, right as they were walking out the door. But yea, I literally just thought like, 2 days ago, that it was going to hit mainstream soon. I told him about it and he cracked up. Re: Rick Rolling Officially hits Mainstream - Maddolis - 05-06-2008 In my opinion, the internet is so huge and significant that it is mainstream. Re: Rick Rolling Officially hits Mainstream - Lynexon - 05-06-2008 the question is now, how long before it appears on Family Guy Re: Rick Rolling Officially hits Mainstream - HaZe - 05-06-2008 (05-06-2008, 09:50 PM)Lynexon link Wrote:the question is now, how long before it appears on Family Guy Re: Rick Rolling Officially hits Mainstream - Lynexon - 05-07-2008 rofl Re: Rick Rolling Officially hits Mainstream - Chris5170xD - 05-07-2008 (05-06-2008, 09:50 PM)Lynexon link Wrote: the question is now, how long before it appears on Family GuyHavn't you seen that one?.. it's been out since like 07... Re: Rick Rolling Officially hits Mainstream - Lynexon - 05-07-2008 I have, but i'd forgotten about it. Thing is, it's not rick rolling. it's just the song. I bet, by next season tho, someone would have rick rolled someone on the show Re: Rick Rolling Officially hits Mainstream - Maddolis - 05-07-2008 The show's turned to utter crap now anyway. Re: Rick Rolling Officially hits Mainstream - Lynexon - 05-07-2008 Agreed. It's ran out of ideas. Every now and then, you will catch a good episode, but none as good as the originals. Of course, they kept making episodes during the writers strike, when Seth McFarlane was striking. but it doesn't have the pow it used to have. I mean come on, why did they make Stewie gay? Come ON. I'd like to bitch slap seth for letting that happen. Stewie isn't cool anymore. No offense to gay people, but stewie doesn't need to be it. But yea, it went down hill after fox brought it back. The first season after they brought it back was alright because you were like "awesome, new episodes," but then it became Meh, then it made my head hurt, sifting thru the crap to find the occasional funny part But, that's fox for you (assholes canceling Terminator series. I mean it shred apart what the 3rd movie set, but it was cool) Re: Rick Rolling Officially hits Mainstream - Maddolis - 05-07-2008 They always hinted at Stewie being either gay or bisexual from early on. Now, it's far too bloody random, 95% of the jokes have NOTHING to do with the plot, which is just stupid. Gets old very fast. Unfortunately, the most recent simpsons episodes have a tendancy to do a similar thing, although to less of a degree. There are also those things that run for 30secs-1min, like Peter grabbing his shin and "aaaaah.... *breathes in*, ahhhh (etc)" - you know the 'jokes' I'm talking about. The South Park episode where Cartman tries to take Family Guy off the air (double episode) is very funny, and is pretty darn spot on with the impersonations. |
