something wrong with my client? - tony - 04-06-2008
when either my bro and I attack another player ... shooting them in the head chest etc.... they dont take any dammage ... but they can hurt us ... and we can hurt each other ... we are playing on a network together....
and suggestions?

Or, lag. Which is where it seems to you that someone is there, but they just passed that place.

well first off dont listen to chris - he is a [modbreak]very nice person[/modbreak]
the problem is that you are aiming at the player's body.. sa-mp isnt perfect so you need to aim in front of them as they move some where. this is hard the first times but once u see damage go down in one spot u aim at, keep aiming there. this is called a hitbox.

okay cool ..... thankx for the info
we found like 4 people not moving on top of the base jumping tower in los santos just standing as if waiting to jump and we were nailing them and doing no damage .... is this the hitbox problem?

no. this is where players are teleported to if they use the /pauze command. They cannot give or take any damage while in this position

sorry another question lol
i was shooting at someone and they where shooting back i had full health armor they had full health,
i got them once and took just under half their health away with the deagle, and i continued to fire
at them. i could see their character react as if they were getting hit, flinching and noises of pain etc
but their health would not move, i tried aiming just left and just right ... to no avail,
am i doing anything wrong? or just unlucky?

Indeed you are. Your client thinks the other person is standing there and so when you shoot them it plays out the acts of pain, screams etc. But infact, due to lag the person is infact around 0.5 seconds ahead of where they appear to be, which is why you should use lead aim. There was a video posted on the forums a few days ago to help new fighters with lag, il find it and give you the link.
