In 0.1b there is no function for giving armor.

There's a lot of armor pickups all over LVP (well, not a lot, but quite a few). Be grateful, most other servers don't have that
You can always do /taxi 4 to buy the armor faster.
There will be a function called [Set|Get]PlayerArmor in SA:MP 0.2

Yeah, and it wasn't your idea. It was a generic idea in everyone's minds, I'm guessing. He just posted it first, and most of us here it is not possible to do it in SA-MP 0.1b.
