General Information for the Betateam - Peter - 02-25-2008
Welcome! Starting right now you're a betateam member of the new Las Venturas Playground gamemode, congratulations! As you probably already guessed, you will be invited to play the mode whenever a developer wants to have a test, you'll get access to special forums (like the one you are in right now) and to the full documentation and bug tracker, which can all be read further down this message. First of all, there are a number of rules you should be aware about.
Rules applying to betateam members
Considering you have been granted access to classified information, files and resources which are not publically available and other cool stuff, there are a number of rules you should be aware of. If you do not accept a specific rule, please contact a developer as soon as possible so he/she can remove you from the team.
- 1. Everything you see and hear is private.
Unless you specifically got told by a developer that you're free to distribute any piece of information, you shut up. It might sound quite harsh, but it's the way things go around hear. All information, gameplay and idea's are private until a developer announces them in public, or allows you to announce it on his behalf.
- 2. Be around on IRC.
In order to have smooth communication between the betateam members and the developers, we would like you to hang around in the private IRC Channel. It's password protected and only accessable by betateam'ers and developers. For more information about the IRC Channel, please see the appropriate sticky in this forum.
- 3. You are not a betateam member.
Until development of the new gamemode gets in a further stage, where more detailed information about the gameplay can be shown to other people, you do not tell anyone you're part of the betateam. Considering we haven't announced the betateam yet, it would only cause other people to moan at developers.
Please introduce yourself in the sticky thread in the LVP 3.0: Betateam forum, and register yourself on Trac using this link. After this you will be a full betateam member, again, congratulations and thank you for helping us test the new gamemode.
