Fraps to record
Virtual Dub to minimize the size
Movie Maker to edit the video.

Fraps, u can find the demo @ www.fraps.com ( For full, u can search for cracks, can't give links cuz its against the rules )
Like Tev said, Movie maker to edit, or u can download free trials of Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere, but those aren't simple like Movie maker !
