IMG Tool trouble - Enzo2 - 11-19-2007

I have no problem with mods or anything....its just one day I accidentally deleted a .dff file of a car and now when i get near that car, the game crashes. So, I deleted gta3.img altogether, and downloaded a new IMG Tool. To my surprise, it dont seem to come with gta3.img, player.img or the others. Can anyone help? Much thanks

Re: IMG Tool trouble - Bakura - 11-19-2007

Just reinstall GTA San Andreas, and all of those files will be back to normal.

Re: IMG Tool trouble - Enzo2 - 11-19-2007

would i lose my data on San Andreas though?

Re: IMG Tool trouble - theInfamous - 11-19-2007

You could backup all of your savegames etc. by copying the 'GTA San Andreas User Files' folder in 'My Documents'

Re: IMG Tool trouble - Bakura - 11-19-2007

If you reinstall, you won't lose your savegames, those are stored in a different directory than your GTA SA installation. If you do not want to take any risk losing them, do as theInfamous says.

The annoying thing is tho, San Andreas wont reinstall, gets 5 bars and says its found a 'cyclic redundancy check' in the audio component. Can i please know what this means? Its annoying :?

The archive is corrupt. Did you download it or install from the origiinal CD? In both cases try the other case :P

I downloaded it from a CD, so should I get it from online?

Re: IMG Tool trouble - Peter - 11-20-2007

First of all, you should buy the game under any circomstances. Next to that, generally we do not support people who have modifications in their GTA installation, I recon this is fine though, although you should know that the *.img files included with GTA: San Andreas are over a gigabyte in size, they won't be included in any download (also because sharing them is considerate illegal)
